Black x Art 2022

Objective: Redefine the Harper Theater, one of Chicago’s oldest and historical theaters as a single-day event for Black artists and creatives alike through film screenings, visuals arts, music and artist talks.

In August 2022, we launched Black x Art, an immersive Black art experience featuring the works of Black creatives. We noticed a lack of community for Black artists, filmmakers, photographers, visuals artists and more to take up space for themselves, specifically in an environment designed for them. We teamed up with Chicago/Hyde Park staple to launch an immersive in-person experience featuring artwork for us and by us.
